Service tiers, eligibility, declared-value limits, estimated turnaround ranges, and fees will be confirmed together. No coin should be shipped until the current submission documents and receiving instructions are issued.

What is third-party coin grading?

Third-party coin grading is an independent professional opinion concerning a coin’s authenticity and condition. Criterion records that opinion with the coin’s identity, holder information, approved imagery, and selected evidence.

How does Criterion’s independent review work?

Grader A and Grader B form opinions without seeing one another’s result. A separate qualified reviewer then confirms the certification package, and senior finalization is used when an outcome requires escalation.

What is a crossover evaluation?

A crossover evaluation considers an eligible coin already certified by another service under the submitter’s recorded instructions. The prior opinion provides context but does not determine the Criterion result.

What is a Qualified Grade?

A Qualified Grade pairs a condition opinion with a disclosed characteristic that requires additional context. The qualification and its reason appear with the certification record rather than being left unexplained.

How can I verify a Criterion-certified coin?

Open the Criterion Certification Lookup, enter CR plus the eight digits printed on the holder (with or without the hyphen), and compare the public record with the coin and holder in hand.
